About Me
I have been a therapist for over 12 years. My passion is helping people to find truth, healing from heavy burdens and pain, and ultimately the freedom to live out genuine, purposeful lives. I am a Christian Counselor, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I founded Hope Christian Counseling in 2010. I believe God meets us in the therapy room, directing our work and doing the healing; after all, He is our Healer (Jeremiah 17:14). I want to encourage you in your relationship with the Lord, wherever you’re at.

Over my career, I have worked with many clients with different issues including depression, anxiety, dysfunctional relationships, trauma, grief, self-worth, spiritual issues/growth and more. Over the last several years, my focus has become working with clients who have experienced some sort of trauma(s); whether it’s smaller or larger traumas. What’s important is the effect the trauma had on you personally.
I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained therapist. EMDR is a unique approach to therapy which utilizes a specific protocol to activate the right and left sides of the brain to process traumas that tend to get stuck in the right side of the brain; leaving a person reliving what happened without much relief. EMDR is very effective at allowing a person’s brain to heal and move forward from trauma. After completing EMDR therapy, the traumatic memory is able to be in the past, and the person doesn’t have to re-experience the trauma any longer. I have been amazed by the results from using EMDR therapy with my clients, where they have experienced breakthrough and relief from the effects of their past traumas.

My approach is genuine and down-to-earth. I meet you where you are in your journey with empathy and compassion, recognizing that it’s your journey and you have to make the decisions that are best for you. However, I will challenge you when it’s clear you are making choices inconsistent with your chosen values; choices that may be harmful to you (or others), or choices that are keeping you from growing and healing.
Therapy is an investment you make in yourself, and to some degree, to the lives of others around you. Because as you change, you will inevitably be different with others. Your healing can affect generations to come. Think about that.

I’m here to work with you when you’re ready. Let us approach God’s throne of grace together (Hebrews 4:16).
