About Me
Renee Chillcott is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor that has been practicing Neurofeedback training since 2005. Renee attended The University of Central Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1995. She then went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with Nova Southeastern University in 2001. She has been a mental health counselor in a variety of settings including Outpatient Treatment Agencies, Alternative Education Settings, and Private Practice. Renee received her license in Mental Health Counseling in 2004.
Neurofeedback was not a new concept for Renee. While working on her undergraduate degree, she worked for a Neuropsychologist in the Orlando area. She learned the basic concepts of Neurofeedback as the office was limited to treating attention/focus disorders in children. What impressed her the most, however, was the effectiveness of
change that the parents were enjoying and the fact that these results were occurring without medication intervention. Although she was not in a place of her career to be able to initiate Neurofeedback into a practice setting, she never forgot the possibility of effectively treating mental health issues naturally. As she worked for agencies alongside Psychiatrists Neurofeedback was always in the back of her mind and after becoming licensed, she attended a Neurofeedback training course in Orlando through EEGSpectrum.

Immediately after attending the training, Renee opened a private practice clinic in Orlando, Florida in 2005 offering Neurofeedback and Counseling services. She founded the Chillcott Counseling Center and sub-contracted with the
Center for Health, Learning, and Achievement. In 2009 Renee relocated to the South Florida area where she grew up. She joined the team at The Center for Brain Training located in Jupiter, Florida and opened their second location in Delray Beach. In 2010, the Delray Beach practice was moved to Boca Raton in the current location. March of 2015, Renee took ownership of the practice and changed the name to The Brain and Wellness Center. Renee always had the vision of a multidisciplinary practice where clients and families could have access to multiple services promoting coordination of care. Therefore, in the summer of 2015, the office underwent an expansion and additional practitioners were added. In addition to constant continuing education, in 2020, Renee became certified in SSP (Safe and Sound Protocol through Integrated Listening Systems) and Nutrition and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Practitioners (CMHIMP).

Renee decided to enter the field of Neurofeedback because there was very little information made available to people/parents about alternatives to medication. Through the use of Neurofeedback she saw more significant and permanent changes in not only her clients, but also her own family and herself. This inspired her to become the educated and caring Neurofeedback practitioner she is today. At The Brain and Wellness Center, adults, teens, children and families enjoy a variety of services from multiple providers. Neurofeedback, Brain Mapping, Nutritional Counseling, Learning Programs, EMDR, and a variety of counseling styles are among a few of the services offered.
